Aromatherapy Oil Burners vs Diffusers – Which is the Clear Winner?
A traditional aromatherapy oil burner works by heating up the essential oils so that they evaporate and spread throughout the room. Some people feel that essential oil diffusers are better because they somehow break down the molecules in essential oils and make them smaller. In theory, making the molecules smaller improves the uptake of the oils for health benefits.
The aromatherapy oil diffuser actually works by taking a liquid to which essential oils have been added, and turns them into microscopic droplets. The molecular structure doesn’t really change. So, how does the effectiveness of the these two burners compare, one to another?
Traditional aromatherapy burners are composed of two parts. In the top, you put water and the essential oils you wish to use. In the bottom, you place a tea light. As the tea light candle warms the water, the essential oils and water evaporate into the air. It’s that simple.
So, does it really matter which you use? Not really, it’s more a matter of preference. The BIG thing is the quality of the essential oils you use. Be sure to do your homework and purchase the best oils you can find.
